An ice maker line gets shut off and disconnected as the fridge comes out. Doors come off when the doorway is the tighter of the two, and a built-in is unscrewed from its cabinets rather than pried, so the tile and the cabinetry are left alone.
Crew is set by the unit and the carry. A counter-height mini fridge from a garage is light and quick; a full-size unit coming down an outside stair or out of a condo is a different job, and a photo or two tells us which one we’re walking into.

A dead refrigerator is one of the things that always leaves this island with us. It doesn’t get set out for some later pickup or left behind a building; it rides back across the bridge on our truck, and the round trip is in the quote from the first conversation.
In a rental condo or a unit near Beach Village, the fridge might be going because it quit in the middle of the season, or because the kitchen is getting new appliances between guests. The property manager tells us the window and the elevator, and we settle where the truck stops before we come.
On the main residential side, driveways take the truck without trouble, so the work is the carry itself. A house along Captain Wylly Road by the golf course might mean a kitchen doorway the newer fridge barely fit through, or a second fridge that has been sitting out in the garage.

Refrigerant is the part that decides where a fridge goes, so we figure out the right destination: the appropriate appliance and refrigerant recycling channel, usually SA Recycling in Brunswick, where the refrigerant is recovered as part of their process.
When it goes there, the steel shell then goes into their scrap stream instead of a landfill.
A fridge that still runs is a different conversation. One with life left in it is sometimes repaired inexpensively and given to a family who needs it; that depends on the unit, so it’s never a promise.

What changes the price
Refrigerator pricing scales with size, weight and where the unit is: built in or freestanding, what floor, how far to the truck, elevator or stairs. We give you the number before we touch the unit, and the trip back across the bridge is in it from the start.
Firm price from your photos, confirmed before anything is loaded. The minimum for any pickup is $95. We don’t charge extra for same-day pickup when we have an open time slot.
