Sea Island

Remodel cabinetry on the island

A remodel can involve more people than the owner: a contractor, maybe a property manager or caretaker, and sometimes an owner who won’t be on the island until it’s finished. We work around the contractor’s or the property manager’s schedule, and we coordinate access to the island ourselves before we head over.

Old cabinetry from a kitchen in a house off Forest Road goes out the same way it would in Brunswick or on St. Simons. Cabinet boxes and slabs of countertop make a lot of trips through the house, so we’re careful with every part of the route: the floors and doorways inside, and the private drive, the gates and the landscaping outside. No truck, trailer or crew damage, and we clean up before we get out of the way.

Remodels finish when they finish. When the contractor is ready for the old cabinetry to go, call or text and we’ll fit the haul around the work.

What we handle

What we take care of

Whether they’re still on the wall or already pulled out and stacked in the garage, that’s something we can look at. Send us a few photos and tell us where it is, and we’ll tell you what it takes.

A sink, cooktop or dishwasher still hooked up doesn’t hold anything back. When licensed electrical or plumbing work is needed, that’s normally handled by you or a licensed pro. Show us what you have and where it is, and we’ll help figure out what’s needed and work around it.

Countertops go with the cabinets, since we can scope both together on one trip. Our part is getting the cabinetry and countertops hauled away, so the room is clear for whoever installs next.

Send us a few photos and tell us what you need removed. We’ll take it from there.

Pricing

What changes the price

Cabinet pricing scales with how much cabinetry there is, how much volume it fills in the truck, and the access to the room. A single vanity is the light end; a full kitchen with a wall of uppers, a run of bases, an island and the counters is the heavy end, and a galley layout with a tight doorway adds time on top of that. Countertops on the same trip go in the same quote.

Firm price from your photos, confirmed before anything is loaded. The minimum for any pickup is $95. We don’t charge extra for same-day pickup when we have an open time slot.

After the pickup

Where the old cabinetry goes

Old particleboard cabinets often crumble — the screws strip and the boxes come apart in your hands — especially anything that has lived under a leaking sink, and those go to proper disposal as debris.

Solid-wood cabinets usually hold together, which sometimes leaves a reuse or donation path open. Boxes that come out whole may be offered to an organization we work with, such as Habitat for Humanity ReStore, which decides what it accepts.

For the rest of the load we figure out the right destination, and metal from sinks, hardware or appliances that ride along can go to scrap recycling, often SA Recycling in Brunswick.
