Old Tile, Wood or Vinyl Flooring Leaving a St. Simons Island Home?
Same-Day Flooring Removal on St. Simons Island Often Available — Call or Text
Can we take it? Yes. Tile, hardwood, laminate, vinyl and the damaged subfloor under them all come from underfoot, but they aren’t the same load, and pretending they are is how a “quick job” turns into a long afternoon. We plan by material.
Whether the floor is still installed or already stacked in the garage, send us a few photos and tell us where it is, and we’ll tell you what it takes.
What we handle
What we handle
Tile and the thinset under it are the heaviest per square foot, broken tile and mortar are heavy and they pile up fast, and we bring the truck or trailer that weight calls for.
Laminate and floating LVP were installed to float — clicked together, not glued or nailed — so they stack flat and load light. Glued vinyl and nailed hardwood sit in between and are bulkier per square foot.
When a remodel runs over several days, a roll-off is an option too, though it’s often simpler to let us load and haul at each stage.
Send us a few photos and tell us what you need removed. We’ll take it from there.
St. Simons Island
Flooring on the island
Tile from a condo on the Demere corridor is a building job as much as a flooring one. Buckets of mortar and broken tile ride the elevator in many small trips, and where the truck can stand and for how long shape the whole morning, so we settle that with you or the building first.
In a house the floor might be coming out of a home in Epworth Acres or down by the Frederica River at Gascoigne Bluff. Either way, the material and how far it is to the truck matter more than the address.
When water from a storm or a leak got under the floor, the subfloor is often soft or rotted, and after a big blow the island’s calendar tilts toward that kind of cleanup. Soft sheets can come up with the covering; the photos tell us how much.
Tile is dense, and every load crosses the causeway. There’s a drop-off on the island, but heavy material has to leave anyway, so we usually run it straight into Brunswick rather than handling it twice.

What we haul
What we take
- Ceramic, porcelain and stone tile, with the mortar bed
- Hardwood and engineered wood
- Laminate and click-together floating floors
- Luxury vinyl plank and sheet vinyl
- Soft or rotted plywood and OSB subfloor sheets
- Cement backer board, underlayment and transition strips
Pricing
What changes the price
Square footage, the material and the state of the subfloor. Floating LVP across an open room is the light end; tile in thinset is the heavy end, and the subfloor is the wildcard — sound plywood is one number, rotted sheets that come up too are another. Elevator time in a condo is counted in the same quote.
Firm price from your photos, confirmed before anything is loaded. The minimum for any pickup is $95. We don’t charge extra for same-day pickup when we have an open time slot.
After the pickup
Where old flooring goes
We figure out the right destination from the material. Solid hardwood in good condition can sometimes be reused; tile, mortar, vinyl and swollen laminate have no second life and go to proper disposal.
However it’s sorted, the load leaves the island and goes straight into Brunswick.
