Who Hauls Away Broken Concrete and Brick on St. Simons Island?

Same-Day Concrete Removal on St. Simons Island Often Available — Call or Text

Can we take the pile? Yes. Broken patio and walkway concrete, brick from an old planter or column, cinder block, pavers, retaining-wall block and stone all go. What surprises people is the weight: a pile you could step over can outweigh a whole truckload of household furniture, which is why we price masonry by weight rather than by how much room it takes up.

If there’s household junk on the same property, it can come out on the same visit; the masonry just gets loaded separately from it.

Masonry on the island

A pile of old brick in King City or over in German Village gets planned around the street before anything is lifted: where the truck can stand without blocking anyone, and how far the wheelbarrow travels to the tailgate. As with a job by the Village, we plan it on the phone and look again when we pull up, because the street that morning isn’t always the street we pictured.

Every load of broken slab leaves by the causeway, and summer and weekend traffic add time both coming out to you and heading back with the load. That time is in the quote from the start, never tacked on at the end.

There is a drop-off on the island, but masonry has to reach the mainland sooner or later, so most loads go straight across to Brunswick rather than stopping halfway. It’s a call we make load by load.

After a hard blow, block and brick turn up where they weren’t before: a toppled mailbox column, a planter knocked apart, pier blocks under something that went down. In those weeks the island’s schedule bends toward cleanup, and we keep you posted on where you stand.

What we handle

How we load it

Broken masonry gets carried or wheeled to the truck piece by piece, so access shapes the day more than almost anything else. A pile beside the driveway is quick; the same pile behind a fence or across a soft lawn is a longer job, and coastal ground goes soft fast after rain.

A photo with something in it for scale — a bucket, a boot, a garden hose — helps us size the job, and we work out the rest from there.

Slab still in one piece? Send us a few photos and tell us where it is, and we’ll tell you what it takes.

If a contractor is doing the tear-out, asking them to keep the masonry in its own pile is worth it: clean concrete has better places to go than mixed rubble.

Send us a few photos and tell us what you need removed. We’ll take it from there.

After the pickup

Where it ends up

We figure out where masonry should go from what’s actually in the pile, and it leaves the island for Brunswick.

Clean concrete and brick with nothing mixed in can often go somewhere it’s crushed and reused as aggregate, one of the better endings construction material gets.

Rebar, wire mesh and other metal in the pile usually go to scrap, often at SA Recycling in Brunswick. Rubble mixed with wood, dirt or drywall goes to disposal.

Pricing

What changes the price

Weight and labor more than volume. A modest pile of brick is a bigger job than it looks, and dense material costs real money to dispose of properly. Then the carry: how far the pile sits from where the truck can stand, and whether the ground in between is firm.

Firm price from your photos, confirmed before anything is loaded. The minimum for any pickup is $95. We don’t charge extra for same-day pickup when we have an open time slot.
