Clearing Out a Home Gym or Weight Machine on St. Simons Island?
Same-Day Home Gym Removal on St. Simons Island Often Available — Call or Text
Can we take it? Yes, every piece of it. A home gym is not one machine: it’s a frame, a stack of plates on guide rods, cables running over pulleys, a bench, and maybe a leg press bolted to one side, all assembled in the room it’s in.
The part that matters most isn’t the weight. A weight-stack machine stores tension in its cables, and a cable that lets go under load moves fast — the reason it shouldn’t be cut apart by somebody in a hurry.
What we handle
The order we take it apart in
Cables first, then the stack, then the frame. We release the tension deliberately, lower the plates, and only then unbolt the steel into pieces that clear your doors.
Racks and Smith machines are usually anchored or braced, and they come down section by section. The plates and bars go out on their own, strapped down so nothing shifts on the way across the causeway.
Photos of the machine and the way out tell us how many people and how much truck to bring.
Send us a few photos and tell us what you need removed. We’ll take it from there.

What we take from a home gym
Brand doesn’t matter. These all go:
- Bowflex, Total Gym, Universal, Weider and Nautilus machines
- Smith machines, power racks and squat racks
- Leg press, hack squat, lat pulldown and cable crossover stations
- Weight stacks, plates, bars and dumbbells
- Benches, mats and rubber floor tiles
- The treadmill or bike in the corner

Home gyms on the island
In the bigger houses along Sea Island Road and up the island, a gym tends to be a room of its own, and the pace of the job is set by what we’re carrying rather than the clock. A few hundred pounds of plates and a steel rack get the careful handling the rest of the house gets.
That could be a gym in a house up on the north end at Hampton Point or a converted garage over in Sea Palms. A garage gym on the ground floor is quick; a rack and a stack machine in an upstairs room are a longer, more careful carry.
Up north the carries can be long and the ground soft, so steel goes out in loads a person can actually walk, and we bring more hands for it.
Iron is heavy freight, and there’s a drop-off on the island, but the metal has to leave eventually anyway. For a load like this we usually drive it straight into Brunswick instead of adding a transfer step.
Pricing
What changes the price
Dismantling time, the weight of plates and steel, and the carry. One cable machine in a garage sits at the light end; a full upstairs room with a rack, a stack machine and a pile of plates sits at the heavy end. The causeway drive both ways is already inside that number.
Firm price from your photos, confirmed before anything is loaded. The minimum for any pickup is $95. We don’t charge extra for same-day pickup when we have an open time slot.
After the pickup
Where the steel and the machines go
We figure out the right destination for each piece. A working machine is worth offering to an organization we work with; they decide what they take, so it may or may not find a second home.
Plates, bars and frames are steel, and steel usually goes for scrap recycling, often at SA Recycling in Brunswick, rather than to a landfill.
