Old Satellite Dish or Antenna Still in a St. Simons Yard?

Same-Day Satellite Dish Removal on St. Simons Often Available — Call or Text

Yes, we take satellite dishes and antennas: the old C-band dish eight or ten feet across on a steel pole, the small dishes left over from changing TV providers, TV antennas and their masts, and CB or ham radio antennas that have come down. They’re mostly metal, which makes them bulky rather than heavy.

Old dishes in island back yards

A big backyard dish may have stood for decades, rusted in place with a vine up the pole. Picture one behind a house in Fifty Oaks or out in Butler Plantation. It comes apart into reflector, arm, motor and pole, and how the pole is set in the ground decides how it comes out, so photos of the base tell us what we’re dealing with.

Where the truck and trailer sit decides the length of every carry from the back yard, and on a quiet residential street it also decides whether anyone else can get past. Positioning is thought through rather than improvised. Toward the north end, where some properties have softer ground and longer carries, we budget more time and bring more hands, with equipment sized to the job.

After a storm, a dish that has finally come loose can end up with the rest of the yard debris. In those weeks the island’s schedule shifts toward urgent cleanup, so we stay in touch and work through calls in the order that makes sense.

What we handle

Taking a dish apart

Dishes, antennas and masts that are already down are a quick load. A dish still standing in the yard takes longer: the reflector, arm and motor come off, and then the pole comes out of the ground.

If what you have is still up on a roof or a tower, send us a few photos and tell us where it is, and we’ll tell you what it takes. And if there’s more in the yard — a rotted shed, an old swing set, a scrap pile — it can go on the same trip.

Send us a few photos and tell us what you need removed. We’ll take it from there.

Pricing

What the price depends on

How much truck it takes, and whether the dish is still standing. One that’s already down is a straight load; a big dish in the yard adds the time to take it apart and get the pole out of the ground. A long walk from the back yard to where the trailer can sit adds a little too.

Firm price from your photos, confirmed before anything is loaded. The minimum for any pickup is $95. We don’t charge extra for same-day pickup when we have an open time slot.

After the pickup

Where the metal goes

We figure out the right destination for each part. A dish and its pole are mostly aluminum and steel, so the metal usually goes to scrap, often at SA Recycling in Brunswick.

Receivers and cable are routed as electronics, and anything else on the load is sorted by material.

The load heads straight off the island to Brunswick.
