What generator removal costs here. We price by the tier your items fill, starting at $95–$150 for a 1/8 truck; a single item is quoted from a photo so we can confirm the tier before anything is loaded. The number you agree to is the number you pay, and it includes carry-out, the disposal fee and cleanup.

Nobody on this coast owns a generator casually. You own one because the power goes out, and it goes out here for reasons that arrive with a name and a forecast cone. That is why the dead ones pile up: a generator is bought under pressure, used hard for a few days, put back in the shed, and then not started again for two years. When the next storm comes and it will not turn over, it gets replaced immediately — nobody is troubleshooting a carburetor with a hurricane inbound — and the old one moves to the back of the shed permanently.
That is most of this work. Portables that sat with old fuel in them until the carburetor gummed up, small units that got run in a flood and never recovered, and construction-site generators at the end of their life. The other half is the opposite situation: a whole-house standby unit gets upgraded, and the old set has to come off its pad.

Standby units are a bigger job. A whole-house standby is hardwired into your electrical service, usually with a transfer switch and often a gas line. We remove those too — the disconnect is normally an electrician's (sometimes a gas fitter's), and we help coordinate it. The heavy object on the pad is ours.

How we work
A Dead Generator at the Back of a Brunswick Lot
Portables come out by hand or on a dolly; a contractor-grade unit on wheels rolls up the ramps. Fuel left in it — even fuel that has turned to varnish — just changes what we plan for, so mention it with your photos.
Portables are mostly a lift-and-load job, with weight being the honest variable. A small inverter generator is a one-person carry. A contractor-grade unit on a frame runs a couple of hundred pounds and comes out with the hands it needs and often a ramp, especially out of a shed with a step at the door or across soft coastal ground after rain.
Standby units are heavier still and bolted to a pad. The electrical or gas disconnect is normally done by an electrician or a qualified gas fitter, and we help coordinate it if you're not sure who to call. Then we unbolt it from the pad and take it. The pad itself stays unless you have asked about removing it, which is a masonry question.
Batteries come out separately where a unit has one. A damaged or swollen battery is something we want identified before we load anything.
Old generators are also mostly metal, which means much of what we take goes to scrap rather than landfill.
Out in Sterling or along Highway 341, the generator that quit may be in a shed at the back of the lot, and the ground between it and the truck matters as much as the machine. After rain, a heavy frame goes out on a dolly and a ramp instead of being rolled across soft ground. A standby unit replaced after a rough storm season is the same idea with more weight. Mention any fuel or a battery with your photos. Because an old generator is mostly metal, recoverable scrap value can sometimes factor into the economics of the job — every job is different.
