Pricing

How pricing works.

What outdoor kitchen removal costs here. We price by the tier your items fill, starting at $95–$150 for a 1/8 truck; a single item is quoted from a photo so we can confirm the tier before anything is loaded. The number you agree to is the number you pay, and it includes carry-out, the disposal fee and cleanup.

A built-in island is quoted as a project rather than off the load table, because what it’s made of decides the work. A modular frame with a drop-in grill is quick; a long block island with stone veneer and a granite top is mostly tear-out time and weight. The carry from the backyard, a gate or a pool deck in the way, and whether the pad comes out too are the other drivers. The minimum for any pickup is $95.

Part of our Light Demolition service

An outdoor kitchen is really two jobs stacked together. There’s the equipment — the built-in grill head, a side burner, an under-counter fridge, maybe a sink — and there’s the island it sits in: concrete block or a metal frame, wrapped in stucco, stone veneer or tile, with a granite or tiled top. Salt air works on both. The stainless pits and the hinges seize, and the stucco cracks and starts letting water into the block.

We take it apart in that order. The equipment comes out first, then the countertop, then the island itself gets broken down to rubble and loaded. Stainless and steel usually go to scrap, often at SA Recycling in Brunswick. An outdoor fridge goes through the appropriate refrigerant recycling channel — often SA Recycling too, where the refrigerant is recovered as part of their process. The masonry goes where masonry goes.

If the island is the only thing that’s finished, we can leave the patio and pavers around it alone. If the whole backyard is getting redone, the old patio furniture, the fire pit and the rest can leave on the same trip.

How we work

Breaking Down an Outdoor Kitchen in a Brunswick Backyard

A modular island on a metal frame comes apart in sections and loads by hand. A built-from-block island is real light-demolition work: the top comes off in pieces, the veneer and block get broken down, and the rubble is shoveled and carried rather than dollied. It’s heavy material, and the walk from the patio to the truck matters more than the size of the island.

Anything wired or plumbed gets talked through when you send photos, so nothing about it is a surprise on the day. The slab or pad underneath is something we can look at too, from the same photos. When we leave, the patio is swept and the chips and grout dust are gone with the rest.

A backyard island at a home in the Brunswick Country Club area or behind a house in Belle Point off Highway 17 takes the same salt air as anything else on this coast: seized grill hoods, cracked stucco, a tile top that has let go. The equipment comes out first, then the countertop, then the island is broken down to rubble and carried out, and the patio around it stays as it is unless it’s part of the plan. Tell us whether it’s block or a metal frame and whether there’s a gate between the patio and the street. From those photos we quote the whole thing as one project, wherever the yard is around Brunswick.
