Pricing
How pricing works.
What school furniture removal costs here. We price by the tier your items fill, starting at $95–$150 for a 1/8 truck; a single item is quoted from a photo so we can confirm the tier before anything is loaded. The number you agree to is the number you pay, and it includes carry-out, the disposal fee and cleanup.
School furniture is priced by how much of the truck it fills and how heavy it rides. Nested student desks take less room than you’d think; lockers, steel teacher’s desks and library shelving take more muscle. The count, the floor it’s on, whether there’s an elevator or a ramp, and how far the walk is to the truck decide the tier. The minimum for any pickup is $95.

Yes, we take old school furniture, and most of it is steel. A student desk with the chair built on, a gray steel teacher’s desk, a bank of lockers, double-sided library shelving — none of it is complicated, but it’s heavier than it looks and there’s usually a lot of it. Student desks nest and ride out on a hand truck a few at a time. A teacher’s desk goes out on its side on a dolly. Library shelving comes apart at the uprights so it travels flat.
Lockers come in banks: three, four or six doors joined side by side, sometimes fastened to the wall, the floor or each other. A freestanding bank walks out on a dolly in one piece. A bank fastened to the building is something we can look at: send us a few photos and tell us where it is, and we’ll tell you what it takes.
Chalkboards are the other surprise. An old slate board is heavy for its size and cracks if it flexes, so it goes out flat and supported, never carried like a sheet of plywood. Rolling chalkboards and whiteboards, overhead projectors and AV carts are lighter work and ride with the rest.
Steel desks, lockers and shelving usually go to scrap recycling, often at SA Recycling in Brunswick. Projectors and other electronics go to the appropriate electronics recycling or disposal channel. Desks and shelves in good shape can sometimes go to organizations we work with, such as Habitat for Humanity ReStore or the Boys & Girls Club; they decide what they can use, and condition matters.

How we work
Clearing School Desks and Lockers Out of Brunswick Buildings
Most buildings want this done when the students aren’t there — over a break, on a weekend or after the last car leaves the lot — and we plan the crew and the trips around that, one classroom at a time or a whole wing at once. Hallways and stairwells get walked first, door frames get covered where a desk or a locker bank has to turn, and each room is swept once it’s empty.
It isn’t always a school, either. A daycare moving to new furniture, a tutoring center closing, a church classroom wing, one old desk from a garage or a locker somebody bought for the shop — same steel, same carry, sometimes a much smaller truck.
School furniture in Brunswick doesn’t only come out of schools. A daycare or a small private school along the Altama Avenue corridor, a tutoring center in a row of offices, a church classroom wing, a shop off Blythe Island Highway with a line of old lockers down the back wall — the furniture is the same steel, and the question is the same too: how it gets from the room to the truck. Send a few photos and the address, and we’ll work out the floor, the ramp and the quiet hours for any building across Brunswick.
