Old Water Heater Still Sitting There in Brunswick?

Same-Day Water Heater Removal in Brunswick Often Available — Call or Text

Can you take the old water heater or furnace after it’s replaced?

Yes. When a water heater, a furnace, an old boiler or a water softener gets replaced, the new one goes in and the old one tends to get left behind — in the garage, on the driveway, in the utility closet. That leftover is what we come for. Tank or tankless, gas or electric, a cast-iron radiator from an older house or a whole-house attic fan, it can all go.

This group also covers the less common things: well pressure tanks, sump and sewage pumps, wood and pellet stoves, fireplace inserts, a central vacuum system. Most of it is heavy, much of it is metal, and almost all of it lives somewhere awkward — an attic, a crawlspace, a closet built around it.

Sometimes the plumber or installer has already done the swap and the old equipment is waiting for a ride. Sometimes it’s still in place. Either way, a photo of what you have and where it is gets things moving.

What it takes to get the old equipment out

Most of these jobs start with a text: a photo of the old heater in the garage, the furnace in the attic or the stove on the hearth, plus a word about how you get to it. That’s enough for a firm price.

When licensed electrical or plumbing work is needed, that’s normally handled by you or a licensed pro. Show us what you have and where it is, and we’ll help figure out what’s needed and work around it.

The work itself is mostly weight in tight places. An old tank heater is heavier than it looks, especially with sediment built up inside. A furnace in an attic means a narrow hatch and a planned carry. A cast-iron radiator or a wood stove is dense metal that needs the right dolly and enough hands. We protect the floors on the way out, and we’d rather plan the route from your photos than guess at it on the day.

Several pieces from one replacement — a furnace and an air handler, a heater and its expansion tank — can go in one trip, along with anything else from the garage.

Afterward, most of it is metal. Old heaters, furnaces, radiators and stoves are usually scrapped at SA Recycling in Brunswick; the rest is recycled or disposed of the way the material calls for.

What changes the price

These jobs price on the truck-load tiers like everything else, but space is rarely the main thing — one water heater takes very little of the truck. What moves the number is weight, where the piece sits and how hard the carry is: an attic or a crawlspace, a basement stair, a long walk around the house.

How many pieces are going matters too, since a whole-system replacement is several carries rather than one.

Firm price from your photos, confirmed before anything is loaded. The minimum for any pickup is $95.
