Who Clears Leftover Debris Piles in Brunswick?

Piles in the yard, the driveway or out back

Yes — piles are a big part of what we do. The lumber and plywood left over after a project. Brick, block, pavers and busted-up concrete from a patio that came out. A stack of pallets behind the shop, a ring of old tires behind the barn, a heap of metal nobody got around to. Limbs, brush and a firewood pile that’s gone soft. And after a storm, all of it at once, mixed together along the curb.

What these jobs share is that the material sits outside — in the yard, along the driveway, at the curb or out back — and it’s usually heavier, wetter or more mixed than it looks from the porch. That shapes how we load it and where it ends up. It doesn’t decide whether we’ll come.

Dirt, soil and fill belong here too. How much there is, how heavy it is, the access and the kind of material set what that job takes, and bigger loads get looked at and quoted.

How we clear a pile from the yard or driveway

A photo of the pile is the place to start, ideally with a trash can, a wheelbarrow or a car in the frame so we can judge the size, plus one of the path from the pile to where a truck can park. From that we send a firm price, confirmed before anything is loaded.

Most of this is hand work. Boards, limbs, tires and pallets get carried or wheeled to the truck; dense masonry goes out piece by piece and rides on its own rather than mixed in with lighter junk. A big pile, or a dense one, can mean more than one trip, and we plan that from the photos instead of overloading. After rain the coastal ground goes soft, so sometimes the truck stays on the pavement and the load gets wheeled to it. When the last of it is gone, the spot where the pile sat gets cleaned up.

Sorting is part of the job, and it happens on our end. Metal usually goes to scrap, often at SA Recycling in Brunswick. Construction and yard material often goes to Republic on Young Lane. Clean, usable lumber may go somewhere like Habitat for Humanity ReStore when they can take it. Tires are handled through an appropriate tire recycling or disposal channel, and whatever’s left is recycled or disposed of appropriately.

What changes the price

With piles, size and heft pull in different directions. A truckload of brush is light; a knee-high pile of brick can be the heaviest thing we carry all week. So we look at both — how much of the truck it fills and how heavy it is. Then the carry: curbside is quick, behind a fence or across a soft backyard is slower. Last is what the material needs for disposal, since masonry, tires and mixed debris each carry their own disposal cost. Lot clearing or storm cleanup bigger than one truck is quoted as a project after photos or a walkthrough.

Firm price from your photos, confirmed before anything is loaded. The minimum for any pickup is $95.
